Note from the Director:
This short film is inspired by my experience living with OCD since I was a child. The stair post featured in this short is part of a compulsion that started when I was 8 and continues to this day, though I'm slowly doing the compulsion less and less. As I walked to my bedroom I would always have to touch this post. One day while I was visiting my childhood home I found myself doing the compulsion without thinking and chose to try not to do it, which made me VERY uncomfortable. I thought about all the times that I must have touched this post over the years. I thought about why I do it and why I continue to do it and why not doing it makes me so upset. Breaking the chain of a long held compulsion is not easy, but once the illusion has lifted and the discomfort fades away I can feel myself gaining some freedom from it
